The formal Opening of the project will be on Saturday 8 June 2024 with MIRACLE by the artist Emilio Ferro. MIRACLE is a permanent site-specific installation designed for the Chapel of San Rocco, which is along the road leading to the famous Sanctuary of Vicoforte. The work consists of a metallic structure with lights of over 18 meters that crosses the space of the chapel, indicating the way towards the Sanctuary; and of a sound recording, created by the artist, mixing the vibrations of the magnetic fields of the chapel and of the Sanctuary, with samples of sounds from the surrounding landscape. Thanks to VIA, MIRACLE has been included in the “Chiese a Porte Aperte” circuit. In this way, visitors will be able to enjoy the installation freely, booking a visit to the chapel and switching on the installation for half an hour on any day of the week, through a dedicated smartphone App.

To demonstrate the value of the project, the Opening will be included in the Mondovì Music Festival program, the first official act of “Mo.Ví”. Mo.Vi is the new series of summer events organized by the Monregalese municipal administration.

The Opening includes an extensive program: participants will be able to visit the Regina Montis Regalis Sanctuary in Vicoforte to see the magnificent frescoes that enrich the interior of the largest elliptical dome in the world; they will arrive on foot, along a short panoramic route, at the Chapel of San Rocco where a pleasant aperitif will await them, with tasting of local products and live musical accompaniment; at the end of this convivial break the artistic installation will be revealed. Participants who wish can continue to Mondovì Piazza to have dinner in the medieval square, as part of the weekend of Mondovì Music Festival events.
